Long Pit Stop

I won't update anything for awhile because I have to buy things first. I have to spend about$4,000 for Lasik soon so it's going to be a while. After this the only thing left is to put a LSx engine in.

The Power of Sound

I got the car back yesterday thanks to Mike for taking me there. The grand total was 219, I thought it would be way more than that. The major green in there was the driveshaft replacement. The car is running great and I've been breaking in the clutch, haven't gone beyond 3500 rpm. That thing is super loud!!! I mean it's deep and mean grunt but mother of god it's so loud. I'm currently looking for a new muffler. After I broke in the clutch I plan to head to downtown with all the tall buildings and just fucking hammer it. hahahah...probably will get a ticket for doing that stupid but we'll see. I drove to work today and there was a black guy in a Jeep Wranger, he looked over at me and gave me a thumb up so I just nodded.

Got the clutch broken in and all I could do was went through 3rd gear. HAHAHAHAHAHA. It was so loud!!! I didn't even push the gas all the way.

And here I thought it was over

I called AAA to get my car tow to a muffler shop to get a custome 2.5inch pipe made to my Glasspack muffler. I picked it up yesterday morning and man it was fucking loud!!! When the guy started my car in the shop you could hear it in the waiting room as if you're sitting next to it. I asked him "don't tell me that's my car right?" and he was giggling "yup, loud but nice!"

I drove it for 5 miles and then the car shoke like crazy. I pulled over and then there were grey smoke coming out of my exhaust. I was like "oh fuck" and turned off the car. Then the car wouldn't turn back on again! God dammit!!!! After 2 months being on jackstand and I only drove it for 5 miles. I called AAA and demanded a flatbed tow truck. After 45 minutes wait they came with a regular tow truck, morons. Had to wait another 45 mins. I decided to go ahead and drop it off at Eddie Radditz and fucking forget about it. Nelson took me home from his shop. It would be expensive but at least I know when I pick it up I can drive it with no problem. He called me and told me I aws only running on 2 cylinders....what happened to my other 4? hahahaha.

The end is near

Oh man, I'm almost done with the damn car being on the jack stands. I started the car but had to shut it off right away because it was so LOUD! Like a mad V8 but I didn't want to wake up the neighborhood since it was 1am. Thanks to Nelson and Mike for helping out but time for some pictures!!!

While I was waiting for tools I decided to take off my oil pan to change the gasket.

Look at that nasty stuff in my oil pan.

Closer look

CLEAN!!!!!

After putting the oil pan together I went on and start on the clutch and transmission. Look what I found under the car, a wasp nest!

Flywheel in first with new pilot bushing.

Then clutch with alignment tool

Pressure plate and alignment tool still

Transmission cross-member bushing

Time to burn!!

So beautiful...

Die in hell you stupid rubber!!!

Replacement, Energy Suspension polyurethane bushing

Transmission mount

Cross-member

Transmission is done along with the fluids changed: coolant, engine oil, transmission oil, differential oil. I didn't bother to take pictures because I just wanted to go home, worked on the car from 3pm-1am. Finishing up the engine compartment by making connections and find ways to block off the holes where my EGR used to be.

Trying not to cut my shoe.

Result!

Yes, that's rubber cork. hahahhaha

My ghetto way of fixing things.

Major Updates

I finally manage to borrowed a camera to take pictures. Nelson and I took a whole day out and jacked up the car and dropped the transmission. We tried to break the flywheel bolts loose with a breaker bar. We lifted the entire car but it still won't break loose. I even used my impact gun that's capable of 120lbs foot of torque. Drove home to my parents' house, took the propane torch, spent 20 minutes burning those damn bolts, and finally broke it loose!! Immediately took the flywheel to get it resurface. I talked to the owner at the shop and he was badass. He has over 20 cars and they're all vintage vehicles. He has a 1920 Hudson, wtf?!

After weeks of waiting for parts I can finally finish the installation. The rest of the week I took things off and cleaned them.

While waiting for more parts I decided to drop the rear end and replace it with a R200 and new mounts. I need a new mustache bar to fit the R200 rear end. I went to Atlanta Z Car since they bought all the junk Z cars and sold parts to people for insane price. I told him exactly what I wanted and he gave me the wrong part after I paid him. Lucky I brought the rear end with me to check for fitment. Few days later I went back and got another mustache bar, and it's the wrong one AGAIN! I'm tired of his ass and his lack knowledge about Z parts. I tried Eddie Radditz but he didn't have any luck locating one after phones calls. I called Arizona Z Car and talked to Dave. Ordered one of his balling mustache bar.

The exhaust manifold was a pain in the ass to take off. It shares the bolts to the intake manifold. I have to drained the radiator and take out the intake manifold to get to the exhaust manifold. I thought it was easy so I told Nelson to go ahead and remove what he can. He removed my spark plugs order in the distributor cap. How awesome, more work needed to be done thanks to Mr. Taco Bell. It's all good and I'm not worrying about it.

Worked on areas:
-New Exedy replacement clutch
-Resurfaced flywheel
-New throwout and pilot bearings
-New MSA 6-1 header
-New transmission mount
-Arizona Z Car mustache bar
-R200 rear conversion
-New differential mount
-New input shaft gasket and seal
-New rear main oil seal
-New rear transmission seal
-New shifter bushings

Now time for some pictures.

Look at the dirt!! They were falling on my face!

Cleaning

Sexy Clean

Look at the crap on my differential!!

Stupid stock exhaust manifold

Thanks to Nelson for putting the fork in. The entire transmission was pitch black before.

Hmmm yummu clean flywheel

Nasty intake and exhaust ports

What the fuck are those tubes in the exhaust ports?!

Gasket on

Gasoline on my body...sexay

Wow, been so long since I posted anything. A lot of work will be done on the car soon so don't change the channel. Even though I boiled my gas tank and coated it with anti-rust paint I was still having dirty gas issue. I went ahead and installed another fuel filter near the gas tank for extra cleaning power. Fram G3 filter was the lucky filter, you can get at any Walmart for only $3. A 10 minutes job took me 1 freaking hour!!! To top it off I had to rush because it was getting dark and about to rain. I released the fuel pressure before I cut the gas line to make room for a filter. I found out the hard way that I didn't release the pressure enough at all!!!! The next thing I know 2 gallons of precious gas pouring down my delicious body. I got the ends into the lines but the clamps that came with the filter wouldn't fit!!!! Rushed into my sister RSX and sped to get new clamps. Finally got the job done with my brother holding a flashlight for me because by the time I got back it was pitch black. The car drives better now and I'm a happy man again.

Drama Drama

It's 3AM now and I just came back from my spontaneous midnight drive. Something about driving on empty roads in cool weather is just insanely addicting. I got the half-shafts, axles, fixed!!! Now the rear no longer make any noise WOOT!!

Initially I went to Autozone to get the U-joints and rent a specific tool to get those suckas out. I tried and tried but I have no leverage or something to hold the tool in place while I'm turning it. I took them to those typical performance shop. The guy was really cool but the sad thing was, he didn't know how to do it. So I taught him steps by steps and even let him use my tools. To top it off, the U-joints I got from Autozone weren't the right size!!! The grand total was $160 and they're weren't even done. hahaha. I know I won't be heading there anymore. I was tired of not getting the damn thing fix so I drove up to Kennesaw and dropped those bastards off at a driveshaft shop. Next day I came to pick them up and it was so nice. They made my driveshaft before and they did a great job on my U-joints also. The total was $116 and it was way worth it. Drove home and bolted those babies in right away. Now the problem is gone and I'm waiting for new ones to pop up.

I want one day to make an update about installing some performance items instead of constantly updating on fixing things. =.= Took the car to get picture taken by some professional. It took us 2 hrs or so but I hope it will be worth it. When he's done with the pictures I will post them up here. Until next time, you kids stay safe and have fun!
